8 Reasons to Drink More Water


 #1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.

(Likely applies to half the world population)

#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.

#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain or up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8.. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. These all sound like good reasons to drink more WATER.  Sodas and coffee do not help the body like water....so drink up!!

How Much Water should I Drink each Day?




It is not clear how much water intake is needed by healthy people, though most advocates agree that 6-7 glasses of water (approximately 2 liters) daily is the absolute minimum amount required to maintain proper hydration.
If you don’t regularly measure in liters, then many recommend that your minimum daily drinking water intake should be 1/2 ounce of water per lb. of body weight. For example, a 200 lb. man should be drinking at least 100 ounces of water daily, or almost 3 quarts of water.

 
Like mother earth herself, the average human body is comprised of approximately 70% water. It is no exaggeration then to say that water is “the basis of vitality and long life”. After all, water makes up 82% of your blood, 75% of your muscle, 25% of your bone, and 76% of your brain tissue!
And staying well hydrated not only keeps all your vital organs humming along, it helps to beautify your skin, lubricate your joints, and boost your energy levels.

 
It is estimated that as much as 75% of the population is not fully hydrated. In fact, Chronic Dehydration contributes to and even produces pain and many degenerative diseases that can be prevented and treated by increasing your daily water intake. This, alone, should be incentive enough.
So...Drink UP!!!

Water or Coke?

We all learned “Things Go Better With Coke”, right? Don’t believe every jingle you hear.....

Soda (ALL soda, diet soda, sports drinks, energy drinks) are very acidic, and disease loves to grow in an acidic state
Soda is very oxidizing in your body, it can inflame, and oxidation is what ages us!
Soda is dehydrating...

And we all know we should drink more water, but why don’t we, or why are we still dehydrated?

Get this: All adult degenerative diseases have 3 things in common:
The sufferers test with an acidic pH, they have inflammation and oxidative stress, and they are dehydrated! You can connect the dots...

COKE

#1. In many states the highway patrol carries
two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from
the highway after a car accident.


#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke
and it will be gone in two days.

#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the
toilet bowl and let the 'real thing' sit for one hour,
then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes
stains from vitreous china.

#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers:
Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds
Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour
a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble
away the corrosion.


#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola
to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into
the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake.
Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the
drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.


#8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke
into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run
through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen
grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your
windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

#1 The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric
acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major
contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the
commercial trucks must use a Hazardous Material place
cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean
engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

What is the Quality of your Favorite Water?


Greetings!

Drink plenty of water, but avoid bottled water when you can. It pollutes the environment and is often bottled from tap water. When you must, choose from brands with clear labeling and advanced treatment.

Only 2 bottled waters disclose water sources and treatment methods on their labels and offer a recent water quality test report on their websites. None of the top 10 U.S. domestic bottled water brands label specific water sources and treatment methods for all their products.

One of my favorite brands in the past had been Ice Mountain. After scoring it with this scorecard system I found it is not purified and uses no advanced treatments for cleaning or safety. It's overall score was a D. Not good...not good at all!

Go to this webpage and check out your favorite water brands. Find out if it is truly just another tap water in a plastic bottle or if it is really treated and purified like it should be.

Jillian from 'The Biggest Loser' endorses Kangen Water

The Dangers of Plastics

The Dangers of Plastic


This information is being circulated at Walter Reed
Army Medical Center .




*No plastic containers in the microwave.


*No water bottles in the freezer.


*No plastic wrap in the microwave.


A dioxin chemical causes cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic.

Recently,Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital was on a TV program to explain this health hazard.



He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us.



He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers...

This especially applies to foods that contain fat.

He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastic releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body...

Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food.. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else.


Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.

He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food
restaurants moved away from the foam containers to
paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons...


Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran wrap, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave.

As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

So...be cautious when using plastic bottles or containers with food or water. Your best solution is to use glass or metal.

Want to drink some Dirty, Drug-laced Water?

Imagine putting just a little bit of drugs (a random combination) into your child's food...or drink? Sometimes here in the US we seem to think that just a LITTLE of something is ok for our bodies. A little chlorine, a little antibiotics...over a period of time is beginning to hurt our kidneys and other vital organs.

Studies came out this week that our drinking water has up to 56 medications in it. This is not news. This has been known for quite a few years, but it is finally catching the media's attention.

It was stated that Reverse Osmosis is one way to get rid of all the contaminants in the water. However, RO water is void of everything...no minerals, nothing. It is empty water and really isn't that great for you either.

I do recommend a water purifier that has a good filter...to capture particles of dirt and other contaminants. I also like one that has a UV lamp so that the ozone will kill any contaminants small enough to pass through the filter.

System will cost you less than a dollar a day for the first year...after that...nothing!
